River Bear Films will be hosting the next installment of the Simply Weird Film Festival soon!
The Simply Weird Film Festival is back, and seeking short films that dare to be different. From strange ideas to the straight up bizarre, we’re here to celebrate the bold, the unique, and the wonderfully weird. If your film defies convention and thinks outside the box, we want to see it!
Submission Criteria:
Filmmakers of selected films will be given 2 festival passes.

Q: How many short films will be screened?
A: It depends on the scale of our festival. We selected only 10 short films for our festival in March 2025.
Q: How will the winning film be chosen?
A: The Golden Weird Wiener Award will be voted on by our audience.
Q: How much are tickets for the festival?
A: Tickets for the festival are $18.
Q: Do I need to bring an ID or meet a minimum age requirement to attend the event?
A: The festival is open to all ages. However, please be prepared to show ID upon arrival. Attendees aged 21 and over will receive wristbands to help bar staff identify them.
Q: What types of films will be screened at the festival?
A: The Simply Weird Film Festival features short films across a variety of genres, including comedy, horror, animation, Science Fiction, and more. Our goal is to present a diverse and captivating lineup that caters to various tastes and interests, though some may not be suitable for young children.
